Europe’s highest cycling climb!

Two roadies Renato and Erik are now on the 43km long Europe’s highest cycling climb. 30km into the climb they reached the barrier at Hoya de la Moya, that is where the professionals turn around and start their descent!

But there is another 13km to climb to checkpoint at 3,398m.

Good luck and stay safe up there!

Ed enjoyed the sunrise in the Gorafe desert. He is now facing the highest climb on the gravel route (2000m) before reaching next checkpoint in Granada.

Bart is unstoppable with only 300km to Tarifa.

HALFWAY! Absolutely amazing ride!

Another nice and sunny day for our riders. They are now spread widely throughout 600km on the route.

Bart is still in the lead and going strong, yesterday afternoon he passed CP6 which is marking HALFWAY! Absolutely amazing ride.

Ed is in a great mood, smiling and enjoying the route, in the meantime, taking lots of photos while keeping strong in second position. He had a blast riding cliffs yesterday.

Andrew will not continue due to mechanical issues.

Roadies are off! Have a great ride!

Roadies departed yesterday morning. Riders are facing a total of 1800km with 30,000 meters of climbing with the highest climb to the top of Pico del Veleta which is at 3,398m.

The weather is perfect and riders can expect nice conditions and sun along the way.

Erik is in the lead covering over 370km. Renato is 30km behind Erik. Luigi is in 3rd position followed by Joost.

Gravel & trail route:

Bart keeps the lead and is making great progress, he came through the CP3 in Molina de Aragon at 20:51 last evening. He is absolutely flying!

We met Ed last night before his rest stop in Ateca, he looked fresh and strong. He is in 2nd position.

Dick Ayres is now riding the single-track trail on incredible red stone cliffs in Spanish Utah followed by pair riders Alexander and Martin.

Mimi came through CP2 in the Bardenas Reales.

Mechanical issues stopped Andrew. We are waiting for his final decision.

They Are Off for the adventure!

The gravel and trail route riders have started today in the morning.

All the riders reached CP1 in Pamplona.

They are now heading south towards the Bardenas Reales.

Bart Denys is flying in the front and came through the CP2.

Ed Tapp is currently second about 15km behind Bart.

The road route riders will depart tomorrow morning.

Probably the most challenging adventure one can do!

Two Continents Bike Adventure will kick off in just three weeks.

Stage one will follow the Iberica Traversa route: 1720km across the Iberian Peninsula mostly unpaved routes and trails.

Stage two will start in Tangier following the Morocco-BikeAdventure route to Sidi Ifni.

2300km through the Riff Mountains and over the Middle Atlas to the Sahara desert.

A total of 4000km and 60,000 meters of climbing makes it probably the most challenging adventure one can do!

The next edition starts on September 25th and we will be heading south!

The inaugural Iberica-Traversa road route starts on September 26th at Irun.

The route is 1800km long with about 25000 elevation gain. With the highest climb to the top of Pico del Veleta (3,398m) the highest road in Europe.

In Tarifa, you can join the Morocco-BikeAdventure and continue to Sidi Ifni. It’s an option for anyone who wants to be a part of 2 Continents Adventure.
